Still, it feels surprisingly heavy considering its compact frame. With a tan exterior, the RX1HS measures 11 by 12.6 by 13.8 inches (HWD) and weighs just under 30 pounds, a typical weight for a high-volume dedicated photo printer. (Don't be fooled by the manufacturer's list price it can be had for less than half that.) It doesn't quite have the speed of similar printers like the DNP DP-DS620A or the Editors' Choice Mitsubishi CP-D90DW, and its running costs are a bit higher, but it has fine print quality and is a worthy printer with relatively low up-front costs. The DNP DS-RX1HS ($1,399 list) is a relatively low-price representative of that ilk. Heavy-duty thermal-dye photo printers are a boon for event photographers, photo-kiosk operators, and others whose livelihoods depend on their ability to produce a lot of high-quality prints in a hurry.
